LYCEON Student Terms of Use

Welcome to LYCEON. These Student Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the LYCEON platform. By accessing or using LYCEON, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the platform.

If you are under 18 and a parent or guardian connects their account to yours, or pays for your subscription, the LYCEON Parent / Guardian Terms apply to them.

If you are under 13, you additionally cannot use LYCEON until a parent or guardian has connected their account to yours. See Section 2.

LYCEON is an educational platform designed to support learning through practice questions, explanations, and guided feedback.

LYCEON:

• Is a supplemental learning tool
• Helps students understand concepts and mistakes
• Supports independent study and preparation

LYCEON is not:

• An official testing organization
• A replacement for teachers, tutors, or schools
• A guarantee of any academic or test outcome

2.1 Ages 13 and Over

If you are 13 or older, you may create an account and use LYCEON. By creating an account you represent and warrant that the age information you provide is accurate.

LYCEON is a student-first platform. If you are 13 or older, the account is yours, you agree to these Terms directly, and you may use every feature of LYCEON without a parent or guardian being involved.

Connecting a parent or guardian is optional and entirely your choice. You control whether to connect one, which one, and when to disconnect. See Section 4.

If a parent or guardian does connect to your account, or pays for your subscription, the Parent / Guardian Terms apply to them from that point.

Anyone who pays for a LYCEON subscription must be at least 18, whether that is you, a parent or guardian, or anyone else. See Section 12.

2.2 Under 13

If you are under 13, you may use LYCEON only after a parent or legal guardian has connected their account to yours.

Until that connection exists:

• Your account is not active
• You cannot use practice, exams, progress tracking, or any other feature
• We collect nothing from you beyond the guardian email address you provide at sign-up, which we use solely to invite your guardian

Once your guardian has connected their account and agreed to the Parent / Guardian Terms:

• Your account activates
• You will not have access to LISA, the AI tutor. This applies to every LYCEON user under 13, without exception
• All other features are available to you

If your guardian disconnects their account from yours, your access ends.

2.3 Age Accuracy

If we become aware that an account's stated age is inaccurate, we may suspend or terminate it, and where a user is under 13 without a connected guardian, we will delete associated personal data in accordance with applicable law.

3.1 Account Responsibility

• You may create only one account unless explicitly permitted
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

3.2 Account Misuse

You may not:

• Share your account with others
• Access or attempt to access accounts that are not yours
• Bypass usage limits, safeguards, or security features

LYCEON reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts for misuse.

4.1 Your Link Code

Your account settings display a link code — a short code you can share with a parent or guardian so they can connect their account to yours.

Sharing your link code gives whoever holds it guardian access to your account. Share it only with a parent or guardian you intend to have that access.

Your link code expires 24 hours after it is issued and stops working as soon as someone uses it. You can generate a new one at any time from your account settings.

4.2 What a Connected Guardian Can See

A connected guardian can see:

• Your progress and practice activity
• Your mastery breakdown by subject and skill
• Your score projections and exam results
• Your study calendar

4.3 What a Connected Guardian Cannot See

A connected guardian cannot see your conversations with LISA. Tutor conversations are private to you.

This is a deliberate design choice. LYCEON exists to help you learn, and that includes being able to ask questions you would not ask in front of someone else.

4.4 Ending a Connection

Either you or your guardian can end the connection at any time, from account settings. When a connection ends, the guardian immediately loses access to your data.

If you are under 13, ending the connection also ends your access to LYCEON, because a connected guardian is required at that age.

You may use LYCEON to:

• Practice questions
• Learn and review academic concepts
• Understand explanations and feedback
• Prepare responsibly for exams

You may not use LYCEON to:

• Cheat or gain unfair academic advantage
• Use the platform during live, official, or proctored exams
• Copy, scrape, or redistribute LYCEON content without permission

5.1 Academic Integrity and AI Use

LYCEON is designed to explain concepts and support learning, not to complete academic work on your behalf.

You may not:

• Generate or rewrite essays, assignments, or responses intended to be submitted as your own work
• Present AI-generated content as original work without explicit permission from your school or instructor
• Use LYCEON to bypass academic integrity policies

LYCEON is not responsible for academic consequences resulting from misuse of the platform, including plagiarism findings, disciplinary action, or sanctions.

All students using LYCEON must follow the LYCEON Honor Code.

By using the platform, you agree to:

• Learn honestly
• Respect academic integrity
• Use LYCEON to understand concepts, not shortcut learning
• Follow all platform rules and guidelines

Violations of the Honor Code may result in suspension or permanent removal from the platform.

Some content on LYCEON, including explanations, hints, feedback, and suggested approaches, is generated or assisted by artificial intelligence.

LISA is not available to users under 13. See Section 2.2.

You understand and agree that:

• AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, offensive, or inappropriate
• AI responses are probabilistic and not guaranteed to be correct
• AI-generated content is not professional, academic, or personal advice

You are responsible for evaluating and using AI-generated content appropriately.

If you encounter AI behavior that is harmful, misleading, or inappropriate, you agree to report it through the platform or designated support channels.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LYCEON is not liable for emotional distress, stress or anxiety, academic penalties or disciplinary actions, or loss of opportunity arising from reliance on AI-generated content.

LYCEON does not guarantee test score improvements, academic performance outcomes, or college admissions, scholarships, or placements.

Your results depend on many factors outside LYCEON's control, including effort, prior knowledge, and study habits.

9.1 LYCEON Content

All software, designs, explanations, AI systems, and materials provided by LYCEON are owned by LYCEON or its licensors.

You are granted a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use LYCEON content for educational purposes only.

9.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of content you submit, such as answers or messages.

By using LYCEON, you grant LYCEON a license to store and display your content, operate and improve the platform, and analyze content in aggregated or anonymized form.

Your use of LYCEON is governed by the LYCEON Privacy Policy.

LYCEON collects and uses data to personalize learning, improve platform quality, and maintain safety and reliability.

If you are a minor, your data is handled with additional care. Parents or guardians may request access or deletion as described in the Privacy Policy.

If you have a connected guardian, see Section 4 for what they can and cannot see.

You agree not to:

• Harass, bully, threaten, or abuse other users
• Share hateful, explicit, or harmful content
• Attempt to manipulate or bypass AI safety systems ("jailbreaking")
• Use prompt engineering to elicit disallowed or unsafe outputs
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or exploit the platform

LYCEON may monitor usage patterns to enforce safety and integrity. Violations may result in suspension or permanent termination.

LYCEON offers free and paid subscription plans.

Your paid subscription may be purchased by you, or by a parent, guardian, or other third party on your behalf. In every case, the paid access attaches to your student account. A guardian who pays for your subscription does not receive premium access on their own account — they see your progress because you are subscribed.

Billing, automatic renewal, cancellation, and refunds are governed in full by:

• LYCEON Billing Terms — what you agree to at checkout
• LYCEON Subscription and Auto-Renewal Notice — renewal, reminders, price changes, and your rights by region
• LYCEON Refund Policy — refund windows, how to request a refund, and what happens afterward

These documents govern. This Section does not restate them and does not limit any right they give you.

In summary, and without limiting those documents: subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel online at any time from your account settings; first subscriptions carry a 7-day satisfaction guarantee; and additional statutory rights may apply depending on where you live.

LYCEON may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, violate the Honor Code, abuse the platform or other users, or engage in unlawful or harmful behavior.

Termination may result in loss of access to content and progress data.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LYCEON AND ITS AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF ACADEMIC OPPORTUNITY, EXAM FEES, EXPECTED SCORE IMPROVEMENTS, OR FUTURE EARNINGS.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN 'AS IS' AND 'AS AVAILABLE' BASIS.

LYCEON'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE PLATFORM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF:

• THE AMOUNT PAID TO LYCEON FOR YOUR ACCOUNT IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM, OR
• FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS ($50)

You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to LYCEON shall be resolved through binding arbitration, rather than in court, except where prohibited by law.

You agree to bring claims only on an individual basis and waive any right to participate in a class action, collective action, or representative proceeding.

This provision survives termination of your account.

LYCEON may update these Terms from time to time. Each version carries a version number and effective date.

Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Where a change materially affects a paid subscription, we provide advance notice as described in the Subscription and Auto-Renewal Notice.
